Social Media and Photography - What is going on...
When you need to post to stay relevant, but all the relevance not necessarily means difference
Social media has transformed the way we share and view photography.
However, it has also created a saturated and noisy environment, making it difficult for photographers to get noticed. With the constant influx of images on our feeds, it has become an increasingly challenging task for photographers to capture their audience's attention and receive the recognition they deserve.
The growth of social media has caused a decline in the appreciation of quality content. The artistry and skill of creating a great photograph often take a backseat to gaining likes, shares, and followers. In a world where instant gratification is the norm, many people scroll past beautiful images without taking the time to truly appreciate them. The many editing tools and filters available on social media platforms can sometimes overshadow a photographer's true talent.
With so many options for enhancing and manipulating images, a photographer's work can lose its authenticity and uniqueness in the sea of content. Despite these challenges, photographers can still find ways to stand out from the crowd. By staying true to their style, focusing on storytelling, and refining their craft, photographers can create images that capture the attention and admiration of their audience.
Ultimately, it's about prioritizing quality over quantity and finding a way to showcase the beauty and creativity of photography in a social media-driven world.
Below are some photos that I took with no edit at all, directly from my #Leica camera #apsc from 2014
